I’d just sat down with my cup of coffee ☕️ when I noticed a flash of brown flying past my window. Birds are in my backyard all the time, but this time it was the sounds that really grabbed my attention. I rushed to the window as fast as I could before whatever it was vanished into the tree tops 🌳. As the movement dashed through the trees, I was able to keep track until the bird found a comfortable place to perch. I was surprised to see it was a Red-shouldered hawk with a fairly large frog.

🐸: Struggling to break free, “Release me!”

🦅: Talons holding a tight grip around the frog, “How do you do it?”

🐸: Stout and strong, “Do what?”

🦅: “How do you make those loud sounds from your body?”

🐸: confused and on the verge of panicking, the frog said in a short stutter, “I-I don’t know, it just vibrates inside me. Now r–r-realse me!”

🦅: unsatisfied with this response, “I guess I’ll have to take a look for myself! Any last words?”

🐸: “I hope you get warts.”
