Most of my images are of birds, but that’s because there are more than 10k different species and they are literally everywhere. On this trip, we’ve seen roughly 200 different species. That's probably more than I’ve cumulatively seen in my whole life. However, I mainly came here for the mammals. So when we stumbled upon a family of Black Capuchins, I may have been a little too excited.
Me: Yooo!!!... (followed by ridiculous sounding monkey noises)
Monkeys: You aren’t from around here, are you?
Me: Can you understand me?
Monkey: Of course we can. But your monkey language sounds ridiculous.
Me: Sorry, I’ve had one too many bananas on this trip. I’m Donte, nice to meet you all.
Baby Monkey: I want a banana.
Mommy Monkey: *whispers* Shhh, that’s how it starts. First, they give you a banana, then they want you to do tricks.
Me: I’m not that type of person, and I don’t have any bananas with me.
Mommy Monkey: This one has no bananas and sounds like a baboon. Let’s go…
